Science Group

The Science & Technology Group organises talks and outings of general scientific interest.  Some examples of past events include – visits to the Mini car factory, the London Transport depot, an Amazon warehouse, Sky TV studios, and the Radio Caroline ship.  Talks have included ones on cameras and on how astronomers measure distances to stars and galaxies.  We have also had a fun science quiz and, in our only overseas event so far, went to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.
